Es geht um folgendes: Ich hab' beim Malwettbewerb von Krusty dem Clown gewonnen, also bin ich mit meiner ganzen Familie zu dieser echt coolen Schatzsuche durch die ganze Welt unterwegs: nach China, Ägypten, zum Nordpol und nach Hollywood. Und Ihr müßt mir helfen, Krusty-Gesichter und Krusty-Gegenstände zu finden, damit ich mein großes Ziel erreichen kann: als Gast bei der Itchy & Scratchy-Show aufzutreten!

Anglais This game is actually a compilation of smaller games belonging to different genres. Krusty the clown appears in the beginning of the game and presents a menu with five games to play (one of which is not available from the start): A jump-and-run game, where Bart must find an exit on a ship, while enemies fire at him and try to prevent him from reaching the exit; a card game, where you have five tries to find hidden cards on a board; a simple jigsaw puzzle; a series of trivia questions concerning the Simpsons; and finally, a platform-skateboard game (available only after you have completed the ship level). Needless to say all games are connected to the famous TV series "The Simpsons".

Français The Simpsons : Bart vs the World sur NES, est une compilation de mini-jeux où vous incarnez le turbulent Bart Simpson. Vous avez le choix entre 5 jeux, dont 1 est à débloquer. Dans l'1 d'entre eux, qui s'apparente à 1 jeu de plates-formes, vous devrez aider Bart à s'échapper d'un bateau. Il y a également 1 jeu de cartes, 1 puzzle, 1 questionnaire sur les Simpsons, et enfin, 1 jeu dans lequel vous ferez du skateboard sur la Muraille de Chine.
Italien Questo gioco è in realtà una raccolta di giochi più piccoli appartenenti a generi diversi. Krusty il clown appare all'inizio del gioco e presenta un menu con cinque giochi da giocare (uno dei quali non è disponibile dall'inizio): un gioco salta e corri, in cui Bart deve trovare un'uscita su una nave, mentre i nemici gli sparano e cercano di impedirgli di raggiungere l'uscita; un gioco di carte, in cui hai cinque tentativi per trovare carte nascoste su un tabellone; un semplice puzzle; una serie di domande a quiz sui Simpson; e infine, un gioco platform-skateboard (disponibile solo dopo aver completato il livello nave). Portugais Parece impossível, mas Bart ganhou um prêmio num concurso de arte! Nosso culto amiguinho vai levar toda a família para uma caça ao tesouro ao redor do mundo. Na verdade, tudo não passa de uma armação do Sr. Montgomery Burns que perdeu milhões desde que Homer foi contratado para sua usina nuclear.

Burns está gastando uma fortuna com essa viagem só para eliminar esta família da face da Terra. Para isso ele conta com vários parentes importantes no mundo todo.

Tudo começa na China, onde a Grande Muralha deixa de ser uma das maravilhas do mundo e passa a ser uma pista de skate. Depois vem o Pólo Norte - aqui Bart irá enfrentar uma criatura metade-homem, metade-monstro, metade-Burns. 3 metades??? É, deixa o coitado ser como quiser!

No Egito, Bart irá passar pelo Vale dos Reis e pela Esfinge até enfrentar o faraó Ramsés Burns. A última fase é em Hollywood, onde o temido diretor de filmes, Eric von Burns, fará de tudo para acabar com os Simpsons. Burns pensa que não deve ser muito difícil eliminar uma família tão patética. Prove que ele está redondamente enganado!
