Allemand Die Welten in Baten Kaitos schweben. Die Bewohner dieser Gefilde haben sich ihrer Welt angepasst und fast alle haben Flügel entwickelt, um zu bestehen. Doch man erzählt sich noch alte Geschichten aus länst vergangenen Tagen, als es noch Ozeane und Festland gab. Zu dieser Zeit existierte auch ein Tyrann mit Namen Malperico. Trotzdem gelang es den Menschen schließlich sich von ihm zu befreien, indem sie ihn in 5 spezielle Magnus-Karten verbannten. Damit seine Macht nie wieder erstarken sollte, verbargen sie diese 5 Karten in möglichst weit voneinander entfernten, geheimen Schreinen. Doch nun sucht Geldobarm, der Kaiser des Kontinents Alfard, nach diesen Karten. Mit ihrer Hilfe will er den Tyrannen zurückholen und sich seine Macht zu Eigen machen. Die junge Xelha erfährt von diesem furchtbaren Plan und bricht auf, um diese Untat zu verhindern.

They also have wings - "Wings of the Hearts" - growing on their backs. Kalas is a young man who was born only with one wing - he replaces the second with an artificial wing manufactured by great masters. He is on a quest to find the murderers of his grandfather and his brother. He meets a girl named Xelha, who is out to stop an evil conspiracy that threatens the country, and they join forces against the newly appeared evil.

In this game, you don't only control Kalas and his party, but also play the role of Kalas' Guardian Spirit. From time to time Kalas will pose questions to you and ask for advice. Your answers will determine Kalas' general disposition and also his behavior in battles.

Espagnol Es un RPG exclusivo de GameCube, se necesitan un mínimo de 60 horas para terminarlo y fue desarrollado por Namco. Puede considerarse el primer juego de la saga ya que tiene una precuela llamada "Baten Kaitos Origins". La historia transcurre en un mundo de islas que flotan en el cielo, ya que la raza humana ha tenido que escapar de la tierra por culpa de un dios maligno. El protagonista es Kalas, un joven que, tras sufrir un ataque en su propia casa y ver morir a su abuelo y su hermano, es encontrado inconsciente en el bosque. Con un único objetivo de venganza, su camino se ve torcido por Xelha, un personaje un tanto misterioso que trata de frenar los planes de un imperio entero. El sistema de combates es por turnos.

Il part à la recherche des meurtriers de son grand-père et de son frère. Il rencontre une jeune fille nommée Xelha, qui cherche à mettre fin à une conspiration diabolique qui menace le pays, et ils unissent leurs forces pour lutter contre le mal nouvellement apparu.

Dans ce jeu, vous ne contrôlez pas seulement Kalas et son groupe, mais vous jouez aussi le rôle de l'esprit gardien de Kalas. De temps en temps, Kalas vous posera des questions et vous demandera conseil. Vos réponses détermineront l'état d'esprit général de Kalas ainsi que son comportement lors des combats.

As cartas são, na verdade, uma parte central da história, uma vez que servem como suportes para "Magnus," uma abreviatura de "Essência Magna." Magnus representa a verdadeira natureza de todas as coisas no mundo, incluindo espadas, feitiços mágicos e até maçãs que são recolhidas na cidade onde começam as tuas aventuras.
