Das neue Spiel hat mehrere neue Szenarien und bietet neue Gameplay-Entwicklungen für die Resident Evil-Serie. Die Ladezeiten wurden verkürzt, und während der Vorgänger Outbreak in den USA online spielbar war, ist dieses Spiel das erste Online-Resident-Evil-Spiel in Europa.

Once again you find yourself playing the eight characters of the original Resident Evil: Outbreak in more scenarios set in the ruins of what used to be Raccoon City. In single player mode you select a character to play and 2 other characters to accompany you.

The locales featured in this game include both familiar (The Raccoon Police Department) and exotic (A mutated jungle at mid-day) ones. The game is backwards compatible with your save file from Resident Evil: Outbreak, meaning that you can take your unlocked content to this new setting.

I luoghi presenti in questo gioco includono sia quelli familiari (The Raccoon Police Department) che quelli esotici (Una giungla mutata a metà giornata).
