ZorkQuest: The Crystal of Doom est la suite directe de Assault on Egreth Castle. Ainsi, le joueur peut relire l'histoire et découvrir de nouveaux éléments sur la manière dont les différents chemins empruntés par les personnages se sont influencés mutuellement, ainsi que sur l'issue de l'histoire dans son ensemble.
