Anglais Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV is a new adaptation of the historical novel by Luo Guangzhong on the Virtual Console. Players can choose to play in historical mode, following the events of the book, or in fictional mode, where the historical events have been reworked by the developers. The game features six scenarios and a total of 38 warlords and governors to play as, as you attempt to conquer the three kingdoms of China in the third century.

Los jugadores pueden elegir jugar en modo histórico, siguiendo los acontecimientos del libro, o en modo ficticio, donde los eventos históricos han sido reinterpretados por los desarrolladores.

El juego cuenta con seis escenarios y un total de 38 señores de la guerra y gobernadores jugables, mientras intentas conquistar los Tres Reinos de China en el siglo III.
